Mouse points straight up or straight down

First of all many thanks for making the Last Resort Mod to allow me to play my favorite childhood game.

I'm able to start the game, but the slightest movement of the mouse immediately drives it to point straight up or straight down super quickly and keeps it there.

I have tried the following:
  • Different mouse -- no change
  • Reduced mouse sensitivity in Windows and in the game (Mouse Speed is set to 5 ms) -- no change, just takes a little longer to point up or down.
  • Restarted the PC -- no change
  • Monitor resolution reduced to 800x600 -- no change
  • External monitors with different resolutions (one 32" one 24") -- no change
  • In dgVoodoo
    • FreeMouse set to true -- no change
    • CursorScaleFactor set to 1 -- no change
The movement of the mouse itself is as though something at zenith or straight down is acting like a magnet for the cursor. This makes the game unplayable.

Specs:
Windows 10 64-bit
dgVoodoo2_83_2
Last_Resort_Setup_v086
Latest update: Swat3_21up_US

Any help (or pointers /media/kunena/emoticons/)?

That is something new. Nothing the Last Resort mod does would affect the mouse other than maybe slowing it down if the system couldn't handle the higher resolutions.

I think your testing things out in dgVoodoo2 is the right way to go.

Do you have "capture mouse" ticked on the GENERAL screen of dgVoodoo Control Panel?  It is under MISCELLANEOUS. (Just wildly spitballing ideas)

I am sadly not much use in trouble shooting this sort of problem.  DgVoodoo works well for me and have never encountered anyone in the forums with it.  It sounds like you are manually editing the DgVoodoo2 config file whereas I just use the included "dgVoodooCpl.exe" app.

Thanks Slippery Jim. I forgot that I was trying to play over remote desktop (I do all my computing routinely over RDP). When I logged in to the PC in person, there is no issue. Problem solved.

Apologies for missing the remote desktop bit.

Wow, I was no help, lol.

Glad you figured it out and thanks for posting a follow up with the solution.

It amazes me the wild ways people are playing games today. I feel old with all these various methods.
