Any way to bypass MOD.exe modloader? was created by Dr. Tobillo
Hey there people, I'm new around here and besides saying hello to everybody I wanted to ask for help with something. Maybe it's not the place but because I have the feeling that this community is at least a bit more active, you guys could lend me a hand.
I got my hands on a Spanish version of SWAT 3 and after digging around Sierra's website with Wayback Machine I managed to get all the patches to get it updated to 2.1. I tried installing Last Resort but no luck, it's ok, because from what I've been reading around it only seems to work with the US/UK version. Nevertheless I wanted to get some mods running (namely the BBE Clan Euro , I really, really, REALLY want to play with the Spanish GEOs in Spanish /media/kunena/emoticons/ , among others like the tier packs, male and female models, etc etc) but when I want to run , all I get is a Runtime Error: 52, Bad File name or Number.
Is there anyway to just bypass the mod loaders? Or use other applications?
Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the delay in approving your message!
You are getting that error with the Sierra mod manager right?
That can happen when the file "mTemp.txt" is missing from your main Swat 3 folder.
If you want use NOTEPAD to create that file and leave the contents blank. The next time you run the Sierra Mod Manager it should work fine.
On a side note: I think this "mTemp.txt" file is actually a bug with the Sierra mod manager. It doesn't really seem to serve a purpose with the game but we are stuck with it, lol.
The GOG.com and Steam versions of Swat 3 both use the USA English version so that is why the Last Resort mod really only works with that. Sadly Sierra hardcoded the language files right into many of the graphics. To create a Spanish version I would need to make a lot of new graphics.

If that still doesn't work all you need to do is edit the file "Swat.ini" in your main Swat 3 folder.
Look for the line (or manually add the line) Mods= using Notepad.

Code:
Mods=Tier_One_Pack,Commander Pack

I already got the mTemp.txt in the folder, it's empty, but still no response. That last one did the trick, I added the code line directly to the Swat.ini file and all the mods appear loaded! Thanks a lot!

Glad something worked for you.
In the mTemp.txt you enter the name of each mod on it's own line with a comma at the end.
Example:
Tier_One_Pack,
Commander Pack,
Hopefully you can get the mod manager to work because manually turning on your mods would be a pain.
