compsound does not output

hey guys. I got issue with compsound.exe.
my wav file are not showing converted into cmp anywhere on my PC

I ve tried like it says here www.gog.com/forum/swat_series/does_the_s...ork_or_is_it_just_me

but cmpdnd.ini simply can not save as its been changed.
I made some flashbang sound, I d like to test ingame.

Wow, I barely remember that thread. I am getting senile. Maybe I already knew I was getting senile but forgot that too.

I am confused by what you mean here. In that thread it mentions "Make sure the app isn't running" and also "You can open this with NOTEPAD but you can only edit the file if you first give NOTEPAD admin privileges"

You tried both of those things?

Move a copy of the cmpdnd,ini to your desktop to modify the file outside the windows folder and after your changes save and drag and drop the file back into your windows folder. I do not like messing with file permisions and app permissions, that is how I did it. Hope this helps.

The save file path cannot be in a protected directory like C:\Windows\
I used OutDir=C:\Sierra\SWAT3\Tools\Compsound
Program doesn't support drag and drop on some windows 10 machines.
Use file - Convert Files to convert.

the sound I ve made, is such a trash.. just tested. its real Flashbang sound though.

I remember very long ago using compsound that if you had the sound too loud when you compressed it that it would distort in Swat 3. It would give a crackle kind of sound.

I never figured out how to fix it other than lowering the volume before using compsound.

Is that what you mean that it is such trash?
