Ok, i had to tweak both cfg and ini manually, bc Last Resort exe doesn't start , no matter what i do. Some missions do not start correctly (screen is cropped to 1/4, unplayable). Career mode cannot be started, because of a crash "cannot open premovie.avi" . Apart from this the framerate is still somewhat inconsistent... im playing at 1920x1080 r.n.
Maybe I need to choose different type of Wine prefix ? I think I chose WinXP 32 bit for this installation.

Screen tear is insane, and color depth is not fully utilized (i think) -

How old is this computer, what Linux version and and what graphics and CPU does it have? Although I had no trouble running it years ago via Wine on a 3rd gen Intel with integrated graphics. Also make sure your WINE is updated to the latest version it can be.
I also don't like those frontend programs, I found they either masked, or caused more problems then they solved and as much as WINE has improved alot over the years, it is still not at the point where it works consistently (ie things can break from version to version). You may need to go manual. That means installing official Wine release from your distros repository, creating the 32 bit prefix, copying the files into the proper directory tree, using winetricks to install dotnet45, installing Last Resort onto that, etc. Also if running Wine from the terminal, make sure you change your working directory (cd) to the swat3 folder, because it will likely crash and throw weird errors if you don't. I don't know why that happens to be honest.
The reason for the 32 bit Wine prefix is actually because it would default to 64 bit and then stuff like Last Resort would screw up big time and not work, probably atleast partially cause of dotnet not playing nice with it.

You know I actually hesitated before writing that, because that's exactly what I imagined would happen. *xfiles music*

I have now managed to get almost perfect result with dgVoodo and Lutris, although Last Resort exe is still not launchable for me.
Now I need to focus on removing the videos completely, so that I could finally play Campaign on Linux.
I've tried both Xvid and Mpeg versions of videos, but none of the wrappers are happy with these.
dgVoodoo - color depth seems to be better, VSync is turned ON, sound glitches are due to recording itself.
